Italian language test (only for non-EU students)

The non-EU student must prove a certain level of competence in the Italian language required to enrol in bachelor's and master's degree courses (except for Courses entirely held in English). The Italian language test takes place at the University of Ferrara according to the calendar decided upon by the Italian Ministry of Education. Further sessions of the test shall be held in September, and students due to take the test in this period shall be notified. Those who fail the test shall not be allowed to enrol in any degree course.

Students exempted from taking the Italian language test include those in possession of :

  1. A CEFR B2-level certificate in the Italian language;
  2. A diploma in the Italian language issued by an Italian institution located abroad;
  3. A C1 or C2-level certificate in the Italian language issued by Terza Università degli Studi di Roma, the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the Università per Stranieri di Siena and by the “Università per Stranieri Dante Alighieri di Reggio Calabria” as well as Società “Dante Alighieri”;
  4. A diploma in the Italian language and culture issued by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia or the Università per Stranieri di Siena.
