COMMISSION STEPS UP SUPPORT TO DISPLACED RESEARCHERS FROM UKRAINE

The Commission has officially announced the launch of the MSCA4Ukraine scheme, part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. It will support displaced researchers from Ukraine for them to continue their work in academic or non-academic organisations in Europe. The scheme will also allow them to re-establish themselves in Ukraine to rebuild the country's research and innovation capacity.

The initial support measures in favor of students, PhD students, researchers, professors, of Ukrainian and any other nationality, who, because of ongoing political and military crises, have been granted with international protection, even temporary, are part of Decree Law 16/2022, currently being converted. The Government amended the cited Decree, initially foreseeing a fund of 500 thousand euro, increasing it to 1 million euro.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE ALLOCATION OF SPECIAL CASH AND SERVICE MEASURES FOR YOUNG UKRAINIANS A.Y. 2021/2022

The Region Emilia Romagna and ER.GO – Azienda Regionale per il Diritto agli Studi Superiori dell’Emilia – Romagna, along with the Universities of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Parma, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan (campus of Piacenza) and Politecnico of Milano (campus of Piacenza) provide special cash and service measures for Ukrainian students. Students will be able to apply by connecting to the  DOSSIER UTENTE  in " modulistica " from 23/03/2022.

SCIENCE FOR UKRAINE

#ScienceForUkraine is a community group of volunteer students and research scientists from academic institutions in Europe and around the world. Their mission is to collect and disseminate information about support opportunities at the university, national, and international level for graduate students and researchers directly affiliated to an academic institution in Ukraine. They are supported by  NEP4DISSENTInstitute of Literature, Folklore and Art of the University of Latvia's Institute and the Polish Young Academy - Polish Academy of Sciences. Other institutions, networks and initiatives they partner with are listed here.

La loro missione è raccogliere e diffondere informazioni sulle opportunità di supporto a livello universitario, nazionale e internazionale per studenti, laureati e ricercatori affiliati a un'istituzione accademica in Ucraina. ERC FOR UKRAINE: JOBS FOR RESEARCHERS FLEEING THE WAR

The European Research Council (ERC) has appealed to its grantees to provide temporary employment to refugee researchers and support staff, such as technician and lab managers, from Ukraine. The ERC has contacted all its 5,600 current grantees and is collecting information on possible job opportunities. This data will be compiled and progressively published on the ERC website and other channels. The initiative follows the ERC Scientific Council’s statement in support of Ukraine and its research community.

Il Consiglio europeo della ricerca (ERC) ha fatto appello ai suoi beneficiari affinché forniscano un lavoro temporaneo ai ricercatori rifugiati e al personale di supporto, come tecnici e dirigenti di laboratorio, dall'Ucraina. Il CER ha contattato tutti i suoi 5.600 beneficiari attuali e sta raccogliendo informazioni su possibili opportunità di lavoro. Tali dati saranno raccolti e progressivamente pubblicati sul sito web di ERC e su altri canali. L'iniziativa segue la dichiarazione del Consiglio scientifico del CER a sostegno dell'Ucraina e della sua comunità di ricerca.

 

EUROPEAN RESEARCH AREA FOR UKRAINE (ERA4UKRAINE), SCIENCE4REFUGEES AND OTHER PORTALS

The Commission launched the ‘European Research Area for Ukraine' (ERA4Ukraine) portal, a one-stop-shop for information and support services to Ukraine-based researchers and researchers fleeing Ukraine. The portal brings together initiatives at the EU level, per country and from non-governmental groups. It aims to help affected researchers find housing and job opportunities, facilitate the recognition of their diplomas, and offer other services. The ERA4Ukraine portal is launched on the existing EURAXESS network, which supports researchers by connecting more than 600 centres and 43 national portals across the EU Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe. All information will soon be available in both English and Ukrainian. Each Member State and associated country has a national portal on which support services are listed in a structured way. So far, 30 country portals are available.

La Commissione europea ha lanciato il portale "Area europea della ricerca per l'Ucraina" (ERA4Ukraine), uno sportello unico per informazioni e servizi di supporto per ricercatori in fuga dall'Ucraina. Il portale raccoglie iniziative si a livello dell'UE, che per paese e per ONG. Mira ad aiutare i ricercatori interessati a trovare alloggio e opportunità di lavoro, facilitare il riconoscimento dei loro diplomi e offrire altri servizi. Il portale ERA4Ukraine è legato ad EURAXESS, che supporta i ricercatori collegando più di 600 centri e 43 portali nazionali negli Stati membri dell'UE e nei paesi associati a Orizzonte Europa. Tutte le informazioni saranno presto disponibili sia in inglese che in ucraino. Ciascuno Stato membro e paese associato dispone di un portale nazionale su cui i servizi di supporto sono elencati in modo strutturato. Finora sono disponibili 30 portali nazionali.

 

ADAPTING ERASMUS+ TO SUPPORT UKRAINIAN STUDENTS AND STAFF

Universities and students propose concrete measures  to ensure support to Ukrainian students and University staff through the Erasmus+ programme. This document gathers specific proposals on what that flexibility should entail in order to ensure effective support for students and staff.
