UNESCO Chair participates in the 33rd Economic Forum in Karpacz
The Economic Forum in Karpacz, the largest and most significant conference in Central and Eastern Europe, serves as a crucial platform for discussing key issues such as security, economic development, and the role of new technologies in shaping our future. For over 30 years, the Forum has brought together political, economic, and social leaders from more than 60 countries worldwide.
During the evening plenary session, "The Time for New Leaders: Shaping the Future Together," top-tier speakers delved into the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping a secure and sustainable future.
Key discussions highlighted the dual nature of AI - its potential to exacerbate social inequalities while also creating new job opportunities. The panelists emphasised the importance of balancing technological advancement with the preservation of human relationships and societal unity. They also underscored the need for training specialists in new technologies and addressing critical data quality issues.
Our Chair Holder, Professor Patrizio Bianchi, proudly contributed to these vital conversations, emphasising the need for responsible AI use in building a secure and inclusive future. He highlighted the importance of educating the public on how to embrace new technologies without fearing the transformation processes that are integral to our world.
