WE Frame: Collective Views for Equality

WE Frame: Collective Views for Equality reflects and builds on the European integration process by addressing the complexities of identities and equal rights from a gender perspective. It intends to explore and promote an intergenerational understanding of gender equality and women’s rights, and the impact that intersectionality has in the real-life experiences of European citizens and third-country nationals living in the EU. The project will thus promote an open dialogue and understanding on how recent events, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the wars in neighbouring countries and beyond, the climate crisis, and the emerging societal transformations are affecting the advancement of gender-equality awareness in Europe.

This main objective answers to the Topic 4 of the Call, with the aim to re-read and re-consider the fundamental moments of the historical, political and cultural pathway that, from the feminist movements to nowadays, has led to a broadening of the enjoyment of the principle of equality (understood in not just a formal but a substantial sense), on the one hand, until to its concrete application in terms of intergenerational understanding and intersectionality, and consequently to its current crisis, on the other hand.

The specific objectives are to:

1. Promote a gender-sensitive understanding of Right to Equality as fundamental principle of European values

2. Explore the Right to Equality as concrete and effective element in daily lives of Europeans

3. Support a gender-sensitive awareness and exploitation of Right to Equality at European level These objectives will be reached thanks to a panel of online and onsite events, a digital platform, a final short film festival.

The consortium is composed of Officine Europa APS, the University of Ferrara – Department of Law, CDS - Centro Ricerche Documentazione Studi, from Ferrara (Italy), and by Traces&Dreams  AB (Sweden). The project will last 16 months, from April 2025 to July 2026.
