OXFORD TEST OF ENGLISH (OTE)
The Language Center is an official Oxford Test of English center, offering B1, B2, and C1 levels throughout the academic year.
Developed by Oxford University Press, the Oxford Test of English (OTE) is the only English language proficiency test endorsed and certified by the University of Oxford.
The Oxford Test of English meets all quality standards assessed by the Italian Association of University Language Centers (AICLU) and is included in the list of recognized certifications by Italian university language centers.

What is the Oxford Test of English?
The Oxford Test of English (OTE) is the only test designed and recognized by the University of Oxford. It is conducted entirely online, making it flexible, fast, and available at all certified test centers, including the University of Ferrara's Language Center (CLA).
The Oxford Test of English assesses three General English levels of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): B1, B2, and C1.
The test consists of four sections: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing.
The Reading and Listening sections are computer adaptive, meaning the difficulty of the questions adjusts based on the responses given. This makes the OTE a fully personalized test, as well as shorter and more precise in evaluating B1, B2, and C1 levels. The Speaking and Writing tasks are randomized, ensuring that each test experience is unique and tailored to the specific abilities of the test-taker.

How to sign up
The Oxford Test of English is available all year round at the Language Center of the University of Ferrara. You can take the test for levels B1, B2 or C1.
To register, fill out the online form (indicating the date of the chosen exam and the level you wish to achieve, B1, B2, C1) and pay the registration fee of €120.00 (in the calendar section all the dates and deadlines for registration and payment). Read the support manual if you have questions about your registration.
Please remember that the certification is exclusively reserved for students of the University of Ferrara.
After paying the registration fee, you will be contacted within a few days by the secretariat with information on accessing the free online self-study test preparation course offered by the Language Center, available for levels B1, B2 and C1. The course explains the structure and types of questions on the test, provides test-taking strategies, and offers revision of key linguistic functions.
A few days before the exam, you will receive an email from Oxford University Press to create your OTE profile which will allow you to take the test on the chosen date.

Special Requirements
Students with special requirements must complete a request form and submit it at least one month before the exam.
Requests to view the test (display requests) or for facilitated access to the exam center must be sent when booking your exam, and AT LEAST ONE MONTH BEFORE the exam date.
Requests for extra time (maximum 25% more per module), for breaks between one module and another, or for an individual session, must be sent when booking your exam, and AT LEAST 3 MONTHS BEFORE the exam date. Along with the request, you will need to present a medical certificate.
