Metabolic, Nutritional and Gerontological issue

Short description of the research team:

Thematic fields of interest/research areas: Research activities focus on Metabolic, Nutritional and Gerontological issue

Manager/head of the team: Angelina PASSARO, MD, PhD

Team members: Juana M. SANZ, PhD; Edoardo DALLA NORA, MD, PhD; Mario Luca MORIERI, MD; Maria Agata MISELLI, MD; Eleonora CAPATTI, MD; Rossella COLONNA, MD; Marina DE CANDIA, MD; Andrea D'AMURI, MD

Research infrastructures: In Laboratory Research studied in inpatient and outpatient with second-level programs aimed at reducing the metabolic and cardiovascular risk. The center uses its own laboratory, both for clinical and research activities. Equipment available, in addition to the basic one of a clinical research laboratory, consists, among other things, in:

- instrumentation for processing and preservation of biological samples

- instrumentation for the preparation and maintenance of cell cultures

- instrumentation for isolation, processing and storage of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA)

- instrumentation for the separation and study of the different serum lipoproteins, for example Lipoprint

- The clinical research laboratory has instruments for in vivo research, for example for the study of the body composition (Tetrapolar BIA impedance)

Prerequisites of the trainee researcher:

Level of education: PhD, MD or MS in life science (Biology, biotechnology, medicine, ...) - According to “Marie Curie Individual Fellowship” Action requirements

Research experience: N/A

Required working language: English. Knowledge of basic Italian or Spanish language

Further useful information:

We publish more than 10 scientific articles in IF international journals each year, and make real research on real topics. If you want to seriously strengthen your knowledge on biostatistical and epidemiological methodologies, applied to concrete medical topics, this is the best place to be..
