The event is organized by the COLOURS European University Alliance (Team Unife) and Plastic Free Ferrara, in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara and Gruppo Hera.
The initiative aims to promote the ecological transition and protect the city's historical heritage through a concrete cleanup and awareness-raising activity.
Four hundred years ago, Porta Paola served as a key security checkpoint for Ferrara. Today, one of its greatest threats is single-use plastic. This event will highlight how the active engagement of young people and the local community can make a difference in protecting the environment and celebrating the historical heritage of our city.
Programme
- 14:30 – Participant registration and institutional greetings
- 14:45 – Cleanup activity begins: “Hunting for 21st-century artefacts” along the ancient defensive perimeter of Porta Paola (Via Donatori di Sangue)
- 16:30 – Collection and sorting of recovered waste, followed by closing remarks
