Alessandro Bratti

Adjunct Professor at the University of Ferrara

ALESSANDRO BRATTI is a professor and researcher in agricultural entomology at the University of Ferrara, where he teaches and works on sustainable development and environmental policies. He has held leading roles at national and European level: Director General of ARPA Emilia-Romagna, Director General of ISPRA, and Secretary General of the Po River Basin Authority.

From 2008 to 2017 he served as a Member of the Italian Parliament, chairing the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on the waste cycle. He was part of the Environment Committee of the Chamber of Deputies and contributed to the approval of the law establishing the National System of Environmental Agencies.

Internationally, he has been Vice-President and Board Member of the European Environment Agency and, since 2024, a member of the World Committee of INBO (International Network of Basin Organizations). In 2025 he became President of Euro-INBO. He is also a member of several scientific committees, including that of Ecomondo.

He has published over 70 scientific works in entomology and environmental policy, and has been a speaker at numerous conferences in Italy and abroad.
