Training objectives

The main aim of the course is to provide the basic knowledge about territorial economy, using main theoretical models on regional science, which are analysed according to a consistent logical method.
These models will be illustrated per an historical approach, starting with the traditional ones and continuing more recent theoretical developments.

At the end of the course the student is able to analyse the main and latest results of socio-economic analysis of the European territory, in particular with reference to socio – economic imbalances and environmental aspects of regions and cities, as the empirical verification of the validity of the theoretical models previously discussed in abstract terms.
The second part of the course is aimed to deepen fundamental aspects of the Circular Economy.

Prerequisites

The student is required to show a good capacity for logical reasoning and reading comprehension, as well as a good knowledge of the fundamental notions of micro- and macroeconomics and mathematical analysis.

For ERASMUS students, a good knowledge of the Italian language is also a prerequisite.
