Students will also familiarize with the sectoral language of tourism.

Prerequisites

None

Course programme

The contents of the lecturer's module concern the didactic units of the reference manual aimed at introducing the grammatical and cultural elements of the French language. The contents of the theoretical module will be devoted to the sectoral language of tourism, with a focus on the several fields that are concerned (tourist offices, travel agencies, transports, hotel reception...). During the course, texts belonging to several different genres will be read and analysed, in particular in the field of tourism (travel brochures, tourist guides and so on). Students will be given indications about how to write a travel proposal in French.

Didactic methods

Lessons held by native language teachers (first semester) and lessons held by the titular teacher (second semester). Since both modules will be interactive, students are suggested to attend lessons as far as possible.
At the end of the course, recordings will be made available as a didactic support for students who can not attend classes.
All course
materials and information will be uploaded on Google Classroom (access
code for the theoretical module: qhr3c4o; access code for “lettorato”: kvz5e6a (beginners); kzwyaef (advanced)).

Learning assessment procedures

The final exam includes 3 written tests and an oral test:
1) A written grammar test;
2) Questions about the theoretical content of the course;
3) A travel project, to be sent to the teacher at least two days before the oral test;
4) An oral discussion of the travel project.

Mid-course tests will be organised for attending students. First test (December): grammar. Second test (May): theoretical test.
