Training objectives

Study singular points of complex plane algebraic curves and how to resolve them.

Prerequisites

Algebraic geometry I.

Course programme

Recalls about algebraic curves in the complex projective plane (4 hours).
Puiseux' Theorem (10 hours).
Resolution of singular plane curves (12 hours).
Contact of two branches (10 hours).
The Alexander polynomial (6 hours).
