MEDICAL STATISTICS
The course will be structured around the following topics:
1) Descriptive Statistics: central tendency and variability indexes.
2) The fundamentals of probability as applied to diagnostic tests and biomedical research.
4) Statistical inference: Interval estimates (confidence intervals) and hypothesis testing with applications and examples in clinical research.
6) Inference on categorical data: the main measures of association such as Odds Ratio (OR) and Relative Risk (RR).

Learning assessment procedures

PHYSICS
Written exam: 10 multiple choice questions (each with 5 responses). Rating: 3 for points correct answer, 0 points for wrong answer or question not answered. The correct answer is validated only if the student submits the proof. Time allotted 45 min.To pass this test it is required to get at least 18 points out of 30.
MEDICAL STATISTICS
Written test: 15 multiple choice questions, each with 4 answers. More than a correct answer is possible, from one to four for each question. Every question is worth 2 points; every wrong answer or a correct answer that has not been indicated, minus 1 point. Duration: 30 minutes. To pass the exam, the score has to be 18 or higher.
COMPUTER SCIENCE
Written exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions (with 1 correct answer) divided into 2 macro-topics:
Basic computer science: 15 questions;
Spreadsheet: 15 questions.
Rating:
+1 point for correct answer
0 points for wrong or undated answer.
Duration: 30 minutes.
The exam is considered passed only if, regardless of the overall score achieved, at least 9 answers are correct for each macro-topic
INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEMS
Written test consisting of 15 multiple choice questions. Every question is worth 2 points
The written exam is passed with a score of at least 18 points out of 30.
Practical Exam at PC with Maximum Rating 30 Points.
The practical exam is passed with a score of at least 18 points out of 30.
The final grade is calculated as the average of the written exam score and the practical exam
THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS.
