Training objectives

------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 56370 - BIOCHIMICA CLINICA
------------------------------------------------------------
Clinical Biochemistry aims to give to the student the capacity of using and translating the information and data provided by Laboratory Medicine in clinical practice, i.e. screening, diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of therapeutic efficacy. Laboratory Medicine aims to give the tools for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.¿¿
Knowledge and understanding:¿¿
At the end of the course the student will:¿
- be able to interpret and apply in clinical practice the data generated by clinical biochemistry labs, regarding renal and hepatic functionality, electrolytes, markers of inflammation, markers of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism.¿
- be able to use the quantitative information present in a laboratory analysis report in a clinically useful “tool”¿
- able to select the right biomaterials, print tissue or organs on 3D

------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 69518 - MEDICINA DI LABORATORIO

Learning assessment procedures

CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY¿The learning verification will be carried out by a written exam with a duration of 40minutes. No teacher’s handouts, personal notes or books are allowed. The test will be formulated with multiple-choice questions (5 options per question with only one correct) relating to all the topics covered in class and in order to verify the knowledge described in the teaching program/objectives. Each question will be marked with a maximum of 1 point and the test will be passed with a minimum of 25 out of 43 points. The maximum score is 30 with lode (reached with more than 40 correct answers).

LABORATORY MEDICINE¿The objective of the examination test is to verify the level of achievement of the training objectives indicated above. The examination will consist of a written test. The assessment is expressed in thirtieths (minimum mark 18). The written test includes 43 questions relating to the main topics covered in the course. Each question will be marked with a maximum of 1 point and the test will be passed with a minimum of 25 out of 43 points. The maximum score is 30 with lode (reached with more than 40 correct answers).¿¿

The final grade of the course will result from the means of the grade obtained in Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine
