Real Challenges, Real Impact: How COLOURS Alliance Drives Sustainability Through Challenge-Based Education

Strong collaboration with key stakeholders, policymakers, industry leaders, and NGOs is essential to the COLOURS Alliance.
A cornerstone of our mission is Challenge-Based Education (CBE). Through CBE, our local partners provide real-life challenges that shape our educational programs, ranging from university courses to three-day intensive workshops.
Students apply academic knowledge alongside critical soft skills, such as analytical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking, to develop and pitch concrete solutions. Involved stakeholders evaluate their work and provide live feedback, giving students practical industry exposure and better preparing them for the future job market.
In line with this mission, COLOURS is proud to highlight two of our key partners:
- Plastic Free Ferrara: An NGO dedicated to raising environmental awareness and driving society toward a green transition. Together, we engage citizens with our core message while empowering young learners through educational activities and community clean-up initiatives.
- Ferrara Municipality: A partner from Day 1, active in public engagements for the green transition. Soon, the Municipality will host challenge-based workshops where COLOURS students will tackle real local issues with fresh, insightful ideas. These activities are not mock exercises—feasible solutions are meant to be implemented for tangible community impact!
