Training objectives
- Characteristics and mechanisms of embryonic development, differentiation of germ layers, organogenesis of reproductive, nervous and haematopoietic systems.
Prerequisites
- Scientific knowledge of cell biology and embryology.
Course programme
- The germinal line: early commitment, migration of primordial germ cells, gametogenesis and fertilization, inhibition of polyspermy. Development of nervous system: neural tube, neural crests derivatives and migratory routes: types and mechanisms, developmental potency.
Differentiation of dorsal and lateral mesoderm, haematopoiesis and development of the immune system, development of extraembryonic
membranes. Differentiation of ectoderm and endoderm.
Cellular interactions, programmed cell death. Didactic methods
- Conventional, through theorical lessons.
Learning assessment procedures
- Oral examen, with evaluation up to 30 (and eventual laude)
