The aim of the course is to explore the field of German-language literature of the 19th and early 20th century, investigating the movements and figures that characterise this cultural arc, in a very broad perspective, but one that follows as its leitmotif the question of "Animal Studies", i.e. the relationship between man and non-human animals. From this particular perspective, the relationship between man and nature is configured in all its cultural relevance, and in all its topicality
