Training objectives

The course aims to analyze and comment some French literary texts from a historical-political, critical, formal, symbolic and interdisciplinary point of view. At the end of the course, the student must be able to read and interpret them within the historical-political, critical and literary context. The student must also be able to use, independently, lexical and stylistic tools for the analysis of texts.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of French at B2 level is required.

Didactic methods

The course will be structured in lectures (with the use of audio / video material, photographic images and other supports). An active dialogue with the students will be appreciated. Students will be interviewed in way to reflect together on the topics on program.
Lessons will be held mainly in French, with the possibility of using Italian for the explanation of more complex topics.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam will consist in ascertaining an adequate capacity for reading and critical interpretation of the literary texts in question, taking into account the historical-political and literary context of the time.
The attending students will be able to choose between a written test with six questions and an oral interview. Non-attending students will have only the oral interview. Both written and oral exams are in French.
