Prerequisites

- Italian language level C2
- French language level B2

Course programme

"Enlightenment": in search of a new methodological paradigm". During the course the various self-representational metaphors with which the Enlightenment has gradually been defined will be analyzed during the eighteenth century

Didactic methods

Lectures (with AV material support including films and photographs).
The lectures will require active participation from the students.
Non-attending students are provided with educational support divided into 4 introductory online lessons that will be available for the entire duration of the course.

Learning assessment procedures

A student’s acquired knowledge will be verified by evaluating an adequate knowledge of the basic concepts and the acquisition of a capacity to critique the studied themes on the basis of the specific discipline [L-LIN 03], within the wider area [10/H1] which is dedicated to French literature, including interdisciplinary relationships with areas of visual culture and European literature.
Theoretical knowledge will be evaluated by asking questions on the subject matter and the themes of the course, so that the student can be evaluated for both synchronic and diachronic aspects.
There will be a 4 hour written exam (for those students who attend classes) with 4 questions (2 regarding critique and 2 on the texts), or, alternatively, an oral exam (for both students who attend, and those who do not.)

The final exam program will be communicated before the start of the course
