Training objectives

The Course aims to provide Students with an adequate knowledge of Roman History, from the foundation of Rome to the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and to be able to outline the events that have characterized the historical process,
as well as the main political institutions of the Roman World. In addition, another objective that we intend to pursue is to know how to orient themselves with satisfactory autonomy with the different types of sources (literary and documentary), which represent the privileged passages to the knowledge of Antiquity.

Nobody.

Course programme

- The Course, of 12 CFU, is composed by three principal moments:
- the first part (1 CFU) has to transmit the foundamental methodological knowledges essential for starting approaching with Roman History's sources;
- the second part (8 CFU) is about Roman History, focused on principal events, from Rome foundation to the end of the Occidental Roman Empire;
- the third part (3 CFU) focuses attention on the emperor Trajan.

Didactic methods

The lessons will be
in presence.

Learning assessment procedures

Oral examination.
It consists of an adequate number of questions with adequate answers adequate to evaluate the Candidate's preparation based on the proposed program.
