Training objectives

The main objective of the course is to provide students with the inherent knowledge of the natural history of man in an evolutionary and behavioral perspective. The course aims to understand human variability from a paleo-anthropological, cultural and biological point of view and will analyze the various aspects that led to the current characteristics of our species.

Primates, evolution and classification
Man / apes differences
Evolution of Man, basic concepts
Fundamentals of human anatomy
Anthropometric methods and techniques for the reconstruction of the biological profile
Language evolution
Pigmentary and dermatoglyphic characters; Blood groups and seroprotein systems
Fundamentals of paleogenetics and genetics of current populations
Variability of human groups and biodemography
Human migration

Didactic methods

The lessons will take place in person, the lessons recorded from the previous year will be available on the classroom of the course. the exercises and the forum will be on google classroom. ALL STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP on Google CLASSROOM for the following course: 3dgdcel

Learning assessment procedures

Students can choose whether to take the written or oral exam. 40 possible questions (the same for both written and oral) will be communicated to students during the last lesson of the course. During the exam students will be asked 5-7 questions on the topics covered during the course.
