Training objectives

The development of cultural itineraries, and of tourism in general, depends on a series of variables that often heavily affect the possibility of the single territories to interact with other geographical areas. Among the most important variables there is certainly the one linked to having access to an adequate transport network. The availability of adequate transport infrastructure and the presence of operators who are able to exploit such infrastructure by supplying transport services that are adequate to the development of tourism in the territory are in fact factors who play a key role in the possibility of developing new cultural itineraries. However, the mobility of persons is not the only aspect with regard to which transport affects the promotion of tourism in the territories. More and more often cultural itineraries concern food and wine routes directed at discovering top quality local products. Therefore, it is clear that in order to promote those routes, it is important that local products enjoy the possibility of being transported efficiently to the markets where by establishing themselves they end up promoting their territory of origin. Therefore, not only the carriage of persons, but also the carriage of goods can play a key role in the promotion of a tourist route.
The course aims at providing the students of the degree programme in cultural itineraries management basic knowledge of how the Italian legal system governs the carriage of goods and persons and of the legal framework governing transport infrastructure.
