Training objectives

At the end of the class, students will possess the knowledge on the design, conduction and management of physical activity programs adapted to people with disabilities, placing integration as the primary objective of all interventions. Notions on communication, emotional and behavioral skills necessary for the conduction and management of physical activity aimed at people with disabilities or in difficulty will also be provided.
The theoretical lessons will be accompanied by operational experiences in the gym and in the natural environment.

Prerequisites

Know basic of anatomy, physiology and theory of human movement.

Course programme

- The benefits of exercise and the role of physical activity in promoting mental health and psychological well-being;
- Sedentary lifestyle and motivation for physical activity;
- The effects of physical activity on self-esteem and self-perception;
- Knowledge of the various types of deficit: physical, sensory, intellectual and relational
- Types and characteristics of Paralympic sports for people with physical and sensory disabilities
- Physical activities for people with intellectual and relational disabilities;
- Practical experiences of conducting and planning adapted physical activity and sports aimed at people with disabilities in individual and collective contexts, including school.

Learning assessment procedures

Verification of learning outcomes will be carried out through a written test consisting of 31 multiple choice questions (four options for each question). Each correct answer will be awarded 1 point, each unsuccessful or incorrect answer will be awarded 0 points. There are no questions with more than one correct answer and each question will have the same weight. The questions will be prepared in order to verify the knowledge acquired by the student during the course both with reference to the basic notions and with reference to their practical application.
