Training objectives

Overcoming of supplementary educational obligations (OFA) in Phyics

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge in Mathematics and Physics

Course programme

Maths

Fundamental properties of powers and logarithms
One-variable functions, canonical equation of the straight line and graphical representation in the Cartesian plane
Functions of physical interest (equation and graphical representation) straight line, parabola,
power and exponential;
Review of trigonometry
degrees and radians: definitions and conversions, sine, cosine and tangent functions, trigonometric relations in the right triangle;


Physics

Physical quantities: units of measurement and conversions, the International System, scientific notation, dimensional analysis;
Scalar and vector quantities: definition of scalar and vector quantities, operations with vectors: module and components of a vector; sum and difference between vectors; scalar product and vector product;
Kinematics of the point particle: uniform rectilinear motion, uniformly accelerated motion, circular motion;
Laws of dynamics: Force of gravity, Earth's gravitational field and weight force, gravitational acceleration (free fall of a body). Elastic forces (Hooke's law) Frictional forces (static and dynamic)

Learning assessment procedures

Written exam: 10 multiple choice questions (each with 5 responses). Time allotted 30 min.To pass this test it is required to provide a correct answer to at least 6 out of 10 questions.
