Training objectives

Convey to the student the basic skills for the practice of Judo. Understanding and study of the falls, the imbalances, knowledge of the principles of Judo. To acquire the basics to be able to play the start Judo lessons to children of 5-7 years.

Course programme

THEORY: history and evolution of judo; the theoretical principles.
PRACTICE: It will address the practice of judo. You will study:
- guard positions, basic (Shizen tai)
- basic movement (tai Saturdays)
- falls (ukemi)
Study of various throwing techniques (nage waza):
1) te waza (hand techniques, arm)
2) koshi waza (hip techniques)
3) ashi waza (techniques of foot and leg)
Study of control techniques (Katame waza):
1) Osaekomi waza (ground control techniques)
2) kansetsu waza (joint techniques levers)
3) Shime waza (strangling techniques)
Study of various training methods:
- kuzushi, tsukuri, kake - uchi komi – randori - shiai - Renraku and gaeshi

Learning assessment procedures

The students must demonstrate that they have acquired the theoretical knowledge of Judo (history and evolution); prove to be capable of carrying all types of falls, knowing how to perform the techniques studied in its various phases (imbalance, technique and projection design); be able to prepare a basic lesson for children.
The examination lasts 30 minutes and is constituted by a practical part and an oral part.
Oral exam: a question about the history of Judo; a question on arbitration rules; a question on the understanding of the technical meanings.
Practical part: execution of the falls, creating a kind directed lesson for children, proper execution of at least five techniques.
