Training objectives
The course is aimed to show the physiologic mechanism of the venous system of the lower limbs in relation to physical exercise, with focus on the antigravitational action of the calf muscular pump. Subsequently, the course shows why the venous valve coupled with muscles can become inefficient leading to chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremity. Finally, the course demonstrate how a program of exercise can significantly improve both prevention and treatment of such a wide spread medical condition.Prerequisites
- Principles of anatomy of muscles and veins of the lower limbs
