Lungs play a pivotal role in exercise, and respiratory impairment, due to both acute and chronic lung diseases, can have a significant impact on physical performance. Furthermore, recent evidence shows that exercise is an effective and safe intervention for prevention and rehabilitation in respiratory diseases. The aim of the course is to present the adaptations of the respiratory system during exercise; the clinical and functional assessment of subjects affected by respiratory diseases; the eligibility and limitations to the execution of sport activity in chronic respiratory diseases with particular attention to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment, of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
