GYNAECHOLOGY AND MIDWIFERY
The course allows you to :
-Know The factors and the birth phenomena .
Describe the clinical evolution of childbirth , times and recording instruments .
-Know The episiotomy techniques and the phenomena of the postpartum .
-develop skills in order to apply the knowledge useful for the assessment of the evolution of indices of labor and apply knowledge relating to maternal fetal monitoring during labor and plan the midwifery
- apply knowledge in order to identify potentially pathological situations and activate the procedures and competence in interprofessional collaboration
GENERAL AND SPECIALIST PAEDIATRICS
The course allows students to acquire knowledge on
- anatomy-pathophysiology of the newborn and the mechanisms of adaptation to extrauterine life; auxometric measurements and neonatal prophylaxis;
- characteristics and properties of breast milk and its importance for health, breast milk substitutes, clinical management of infant feeding problems;
- general concepts on physical examination of the newborn and common neonatal events;
- general principles and practical aspects of neonatal screening;
- management of jaundice and skills related to the performance of basic diagnostic test and teatment
- glycemic homeostasis in full-term and late preterm newborns: prevention and treatment of hypoglycemia.

-describe phases and physiological mechanisms of childbirth
-know non-drug techniques for pain control and free positions for childbirth and ability to choose and apply that knowledge to the woman giving birth
-to identify the needs of the woman in labor and plan care interventions for the woman , the baby and the family in the birth process , plan and implement the plan of obstetric care during labor of low-risk childbirth
-recognize through Data Collection potentially pathological conditions in labor , ability to identify the obstetric risk and re-planning of obstetric care .
-apply knowledge in order to develop appropriate behaviors during the afterbirth and post partum

The student must know and understand the psychological aspects that characterize pregnancy and be able to recognize the psychopathological symptoms to activate in collaboration with the doctor , psychological interventions / psychiatric preventive and / or therapeutic necessary .
The student must know and understand and be able to apply knowledge about the experiences of infertile couples female and male psychological facing medically assisted fertilization routes and knowing how to relate to needs .
The student must know, understand and be able to apply the knowledge to manage the emotional and psychological reactions of the woman facing the death in pregnancy and know how to respect and accommodate the emotional states of women.

Learning assessment procedures

GYNAECHOLOGY AND MIDWIFERY
The exam is oral. They are formulated by the teacher 2 questions that go to investigate sequential and hierarchical manner:
-the topic proposed for discussion basic knowledge and clinical skills link between the various topics that are related
-the student's ability to analyze the epidemiological context and scientific evidence supporting clinical practice and organization of the topic
-the diagnostic skills and clinical reasoning, the welfare of the intervention implementation skills of expertise and a team of verification capabilities and diagnostics of risk factors and complications of the intervention made.
The test is passed if the student responds correctly to the questions posed by the teacher. The test is deemed insufficient if the student does not respond to the indicators concerning the knowledge, the operating epidemiological and scientific evidence because they were considered a barrier to the continuation of the trial. They are the assessment of language indicators, the ability to create theoretical correlations functional practices to midwives skills. The 30/30.
