To understand the disease-specific trajectories of recovery, the prognostic and gender-related factors. At the end of this course, the student will be able to propose an hypothesis of rehabilitative intervention based on the ongoing neuroscientific evidence.

Prerequisites

Foundations of anatomy and physiology of the central nervous system, specifically of the motor systems. Brief knowledge of the most common neurological diseases that cause disability.

Course programme

(1) The biological mechanisms of recovery after CNS. (2) Rehabilitative interventions to promote neuroplasticity. (3) Stroke rehabilitation (4) Severe acquired brain injury rehabilitation (5) Neurdegenerative diseases rehabilitation.
