Training objectives

To introduce the medical Student to practical methods, based on the use of antibodies or immune reactions, in use in basic research and core laboratories of clinical pathology.

Prerequisites

To have passed the exams of General Pathology I and Immunology, General Pathology II and Physiopathology

Course programme

Methods to obtain polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to be used for research or diagnostic applications. Immunometric assays on solid phase, competitive and non-competitive assays, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence in optical and confocal microscopy.
