Training objectives
- Knowledge and understanding of the differences related to biological sex and sociocultural gender in the epidemiology, pathogenesis, manifestations, diagnosis, and response to treatment of cardiovascular disease
To develop knowledge on and to apply the bio-psycho-social multidimensional approach to individuals at risk or affected by cardiovascular disease towards a tailored care management in the precision medicine era
Knowledge and application of methodological tools for a critical appraisal of the literature on cardiovascular disease, and for a proper assessment of the applicability of scientific findings in the clinical practice.
Identify gaps in research methodologies and public misconceptions associated with sex differences in cardiovascular disease. Prerequisites
- Have attended the course of Clinical Methodology I-II and Pharmacology (II and III year), Cardiology (V year) - CdL Medicine and Surgery
Course programme
- Updates on sex- and gender-related differences in the epidemiology, pathogenesis, manifestations, diagnosis, and response to guideline-recommended treatment of cardiovascular disease. (Specific focus on ischemic heart disease, heart failure and atrial fibrillation)
