Elements of Access Basic language and macros development
Applications of genome epidemiology in public health services

Didactic methods

Lectures with slide shows. “Dynamic” lectures with continuous involvement of the students.
Practical exercises in computer classroom, consisting in the development and handling of clinical and genomic database, linkage and association genetic tests, organization and management of relational databases, database querying and generation of result reports.

Learning assessment procedures

Oral exam with 4 questions on the topics covered in the course and lasting around 15 minutes. The exam is designed to assess student’s mastery of the course topics and understand their translational applications, as well as to estimate the practical ability to organize database, to perform analyses, to solve problems and to present the results.
