Training objectives

TRAINING
Apply the nursing methodology to exercise care skills in medium and high complexity professional fields with the supervision of a clinical tutor in the surgical, emergency, oncology departments in primary care and outpatient settings.

Prerequisites

Passing the first year training and vocational activities exam.

Course programme

TRAINING
Planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing assistance to the person/family with health problems in the general and specialist surgical area and in vital criticality and with diabetic, cardiovascular, respiratory and oncological pathologies.

Didactic methods

TRAINING and WORKSHOP
Guided internship, laboratory of gestural and relational skills.

Learning assessment procedures

The Teaching assessment is included for the Internship module and the Laboratory. The placement exam using the exam structured methodology to objectively stations, the lab exam is a written test, assessed both in thirtieth. The final evaluation is given by the weighted average of the two partials.
INTERNSHIP EXAMINATION
The examination includes evaluation of clinical competence acquired in internship through the successful completion of tests addressed in stages, defined stations.
The first station is cognitive, is the nursing planning a clinical case and in the solution of a nursing care situation.
Such evidence is preliminary to the subsequent steps defined gestural and relational, as the student must demonstrate the ability to successfully execute a number of nursing techniques and know how to relate effectively with the person assisted in different care situations. The wheel student in the various stations arranged with mannequins and / or simulators and mock patients, the failure to pass a single station stops the examination and therefore the student will have to retake it. The cognitive test, preparatory to other stations is maintained only valid for the examination session in place, so if at the end of the session the student failed to overcome the successive gestural and relational stations will have to re-enroll the student test of the next session.
The student is evaluated through evaluation grids for cognitive station, check list and observation grids for gestural stations and relationship in which shows all the criteria and weighting adopted by the examination.
Admission criteria:
- Making all the hours of training
- Final evaluation of the positive training
- Clinical case planning
- Completion of the internship evaluation questionnaire
Cognitive STATION (TIME 50 MINUTES)
a) the student chooses the directions identifying D.I. related to a medical condition and / or health education than the main priority health problems treated (eg. diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular and oncological diseases, AIDS)
b) the student solves / argues the proposed welfare situation, related to the care planning referred to in point a). minimum score: 7, maximum score: 15
STATION GESTURAL (MAX 10 MINUTES PER STATION)
the student must be able to carry out all planned activities in the examination of the first year internship and:
1. medicate an abdominal surgical wound infected
2. Positional and remove a SNG
3. plate replacement and bag a colon and urostomy
4. perform an ECG
5. perform bronchoaspiration
6. medicate a tracheostomy
minimum score: 7, maximum score: 8
STATION RELATIONAL (MINIMUM 7 MINUTES - MAX 10 MINUTES)
students demonstrate listening skills and receptivity in the relationship with the person during
1. the establishment of the health models of Gordon
2. a session of therapeutic education training of insulin therapy
3. a session of therapeutic education training of plaque shift and a colostomy bag / urostomy
4. triage of the person with pain or moderate anxiety
5. the interview with the foreign person
minimum score: 4, maximum score: 7
2. Laboratory examination
The laboratory examination consists of a written test lasting 40 minutes with 5 questions on major nursing care activities with answers open or closed, each question is evaluated with these criteria:
0 points: completely wrong answer or no answer
3 points: correct answer but partial contents / partially correct
6 points: correct and complete response with content that refer to scientific evidence, for a total of 30/30.
