Training objectives

------------------------------------------------------------
Modulo: 015371 - METODOLOGIA DELLA RICERCA INFERMIERISTICA
------------------------------------------------------------
METHODOLOGY OF NURSING RESEARCH
Acquire knowledge of the methodology of nursing research and introduce the student to the conceptual and methodological foundations of the research. Having the basic knowledge to define the significance of scientific research in the field of nursing / health. Gain knowledge on methodological principles of research and critical evaluation of evidence. Have adequate knowledge about the major research designs.
Introduction to Reading and completion of a research protocol.
APPLIED STATISTICS
The module of Biostatistics aims to provide a firm grounding in the foundations of probability and statistics, in order to understand and explain the essential measures used in epidemiology. At the end of the course the student will know the main characteristics of all epidemiological studies; understand how the epidemiological methodology is a basis for clinical research and healthcare management; know the foundations of both descriptive and inferential statistics.
EVIDENCE BASED NURSING
At the end of the course the student should have the knowledge that will enable them to carry out an evidence-based practice. To this end, the student must possess general knowledge over evidence based practice and its effects on patients, on professionals and on organizers. Must be able to formulate questions relevant for nursing care.
Must possess a good knowledge of the various designs of the studies and methodologies for them search in the main databases. The student must have knowledge to make a critical assessment of studies

Learning assessment procedures

METHODOLOGY OF NURSING RESEARCH and EBN
Cognitive learning written tests with mixed responses (30% of the questions are open-ended and the remaining are closed questions with multiple answer possibilities). The test includes 15 questions that accurately reflect the bibliography of the program. The final judgment will be performed by calculating a weighted average of the responses. The expected time for completion is 60 minutes
For students who do not pass the written test, next test will have to undergo an oral test with questions about the program and bibliography supplied to the students. Maximum test time is 15 minutes
APPLIED STATISTICS
Written exam with 30 multiple-choice questions. For each question, there may be one to four correct answers. Half of the score of each question will be cut for any wrong or missing answer. The entire mark assigned to a question will be cut if two or more answers are wrong, or if two or more correct answers are missing. Time: 50 minutes. Minimum score: 18.
THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS.
