CLINICAL-MEDICAL NURSING
The course aims at providing the student:
Ability to apply the nursing process in the solution of the priority problems of health of the adult, medical relevance, such as liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis, cardiovascular problems such as myocardial infarction, respiratory problems such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), dysmetabolic problems such as diabetes mellitus.
Acquire and use clinical diagnostic and therapeutic knowledge for the planning of nursing care to the person with TB and HIV.
Knowing the welfare approach to be taken in assisting the person in isolation.
Acquire the awareness of the role and responsibilities of the nurse in administering specific drugs of individual diseases
gain knowledge of guidelines / protocols / procedures for the application / administration of diagnostic / therapeutic procedures related to issues related to the care plan.
NURSING IN ONCOLOGICAL SETTING AND PALLIATIVE TREATMENT
The course aims at providing the student:

Knowing and using the most important rating scales used for the evaluation of the patient oncology and hematology

Learning about the management of symptoms in the oncological and hematological patient
Knowing the nursing skills on the main diagnostic tests and the patient's course of treatment of oncology and hematology diseases
Knowing the nursing skills related to palliative care
INFECTIOUS DISEASES
Clinical-diagnostic management of the patient with an infectious disease. Know possible sources of infection and transmission ways of infections. Know how to apply the possible care procedures to limit the spread of infections during hospitalization. The role of the nurse in the management of anti-infective therapy (also about Covid-19)

Historical evolution of the code of ethics of nurses and regulatory evolution in Italy of the nursing profession. Meaning of Position of guarantee, Clause of conscience, Responsibility and professional conscience, Freedom and self-determination. The nurse and the use of social media, the nurse and restraint: ethical and deontological reflections, (web reputation, right to be forgotten, confidentiality obligation) honesty and loyalty towards colleagues and users and their families, social image of the profession .

NURSING IN ONCOLOGICAL SETTING AND PALLIATIVE TREATMENT
Epidemiological relevance, etiology, risk factors and preventive measures, care aspects related to diagnostic / therapeutic procedures, main nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems related to the main oncological and haematological pathologies.
Symptoms related to oncological disease, therapies and their management.
The specific therapies of neoplastic diseases (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, target therapy, immunotherapy), main complications relating to the effects of therapy with antineoplastic drugs and the treatment and assistance of the patient undergoing.
Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and management
Analysis and methods of compilation of the main assessment scales used in the care of the oncohematological patient.
Management of drugs, blood transfusions and blood products.

Learning assessment procedures

Examination of Clinical Nursing in Area Medica is decomposed into four partial tests refer to the individual modules: PROFESSIONAL ETHICS; NURSING CLINICAL MEDICINE; NURSING IN ONCOLOGY AND PALLIATIVE; INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
For each module are proposed as follows 8 appeals in the academic year: in January-February session: n° 2 examinations; in June-July session: n° 2 examinations; in September session: n° 2 examinations; recovery session in January-February: n° 2 examinations.
For each appeal, the student can choose to take the exam in a single module or all four modules.
For each module, examination is written. It is structured multiple-choice tests that investigate the knowledge gained by the student, the ability to perform even simple reasoning and math skills in the management of drugs.
The tests include:
30 multiple choice questions of equal value for the examination of Professional Ethics;
50 multiple choice questions of varying value (1-3 points), default by the commission for the examination of Nursing Medical Clinic;
20 multiple choice questions of varying value (1-3 points), default by the commission for the examination of Nursing Oncology and Palliative Care;
15 multiple choice questions of equal value for the examination of Infectious Diseases.
The assessment for each module is of thirty.
The vote to verbalize to the teaching of Clinical Nursing in Medical Area, for each individual student, is obtained from the weighted average according to the credits assigned to each module, of the total number of credits required for teaching (7 credits), as indicated in the path of studies, namely:
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS 1 credit;
NURSING CLINICAL MEDICINE 3 credits;
NURSING IN ONCOLOGY AND PALLIATIVE 2 credits;
INFECTIOUS DISEASES 1 credit.
