On completion of the course the students are expected to be able to:
-understand the main laws regulating the work of healthcare professionals
-understand the code of conduct of healthcare employees in public and private administration.
-understand the skills and fundamental strategies involved in relationships with the patient and among healthcare professionals.
-understand the work environment in which the physiotherapist practises, the relative labour laws and code of conduct

PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT
On completion of the course the students are expected to be familiar with:
-specific aspects, methods and tools and core skills involved in physiotherapy management in various types of organisations, including the private sector.
-methods for the drafting of a project.
-international standards in “quality” physiotherapy practice.

ORGANISATIONAL PHYSCHOLOGY
On completion of the course the students are expected to be familiar with:
- Knowing the basics of organizational psychology and team work.
- know and describe how develops and supports the work motivation in organizations.
- Know and describe strategies for managing conflicts in the working groups (from source to solution).
- Understand and describe the causes and characteristics and possible solutions of burnout and mobbing in organizations.

MANAGEMENT AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE
To know and describe the basics of healthcare economics, the models of the organisation of the healthcare system and the South Tyrolean Health Authority.
Know the main financing mechanisms.

The aim of the course is to provide the students with skills in:
-tools aimed at a systemic reading of healthcare organisations
-identifying the organisational factors which impact on the practice of physiotherapy (organisational models, organisational culture, socio-political, economic and demographic context.)
-the professionalization process of physiotherapists and the influence of healthcare work on the organisation (this part will be treated only if not carried out by other teachers)

Learning assessment procedures

LABOUR LAW: the written exam consists in 30 multiple choice questions, each with one or more correct answers. Each correct and complete answer is worth one point.. For a positive assessment at least 18 questions must be answered correctly (18/30). There is provided a total duration of 30 minutes for the test.

PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT: drafting of a project or application of an choise operative tool according to the profession and quality standards to assess declared skills training objectives. Evaluation criteria: appropriateness of the choice of tool, application methodology, consistency and completeness of the elaborate, professional language, capacity for analysis and synthesis, references to international standards of quality and documentative sources. For each criterion a score from 1 to 5. Praise for originality and pro-positivity particular thesis.
ORGANISATIONAL PHYCHOLOGY: oral exam: the student pulls out two questions from a pool of 14. For each response is assigned a maximum score of 15 points based on the completeness, level of detail, clarity of the argumentation and connections with clinical practice. The mark, expressed in thirtieths, is the sum of the partial scores.
MANAGEMENT AND CLINICAL GOVERNANCE: the exam consists of 9 questions, 8 of which are open questions and 1 multiple-choice. Each correct answer is awarded from 1 to 5 points, depending on the type of question and the level of depth of content.

SOCIOLOGY OF ORGANISATION PROCESSES: The oral examination consists of 3 questions, including one about a topic chosen by the student. For each response they will be assigned max. 10 points. The answers will be evaluated based on: completeness and depth, quality of argumentation, clarity and adherence to their professional profile, ask questions and expose critical.

FORENSIC REHABILITATION: multiple choice quizzes concerning argoments, topics and discussion presented in classroom. The valutation is about the answers and corrispondent difficulty.

SEMINAR: GUIDELINES, RISK ASSESSMENT AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGY: The exam consists of in-depth work in small groups to be presented in plenary. The evaluation (30 /30) results from the level of depth of the contents and the capacity of exposure.
The final grade results from the weighted average of the partial ratings.
