Training objectives

INTERNSHIP FOR FIRST YEAR CORE SKILLS
Knowledge, Skills and Competences with reference to the core competence of the internship, in the context of:
- PREVENTION from the behavior of the operators during the observation of the gym activities and subsequently the rationale inherent in the risks of infection is deduced, - identify the load handling strategies put into practice by the operators and their correspondence to the theoretical rationale during the observation of the activities of loads in the gym and in the ward, - identify which are the activities that can potentially be vehicles.
- TRAINING/SELF-TRAINING: reflect on experience and self-evaluate.
- PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY, accepts responsibility for their actions and decisions, behaving according to professional ethics and deontology.
- MANAGEMENT: Identify the areas and skills of the operators of the organization in which one operates (in particular rehabilitation nurses, physiatrists, speech therapists and OSS). Collaborate in the implementation of the personal internship program.
COMMUNICATION/RELATIONSHIP: Identify the elements of verbal and non-verbal communication between professionals and users (patients and their families) and between service operators. Develop observation, listening and communication skills during the performance of therapeutic activities in the gym. Become aware of your own experience acquired during the relationship / communication with patients and their families.
SEMINAR: INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSION
Knowledge of the educational offer and the organization of the course of study. Knowledge of the core competencies, the essential regulatory aspects and the different operational and working realities of the Physiotherapist profession (professional profile and role, code of ethics, rules regarding rehabilitation and professional culture). Getting to know the ICF.
SEMINAR: COMPUTER SCIENCE
To provide the basic notions that constitute the hardware and software elements of a computing system.
Learn the use of an electronic spreadsheet as a tool for data processing.

Course programme

TRAINING FOR FIRST YEAR CORE SKILLS
INTERNSHIP SETTING, DURATION AND ACTIVITIES
Mainly observational internship. Duration 2 weeks
Setting: Rehabilitation Hospital
Type of user: patients with neurological and orthopedic disabilities in hospitalization
SEMINAR INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSION
Code of ethics and regulation of the profession. International classification of functioning, disablety and health (ICF). The core competences of the Physiotherapist and the profession declined in the different clinical / organizational situations.
COMPUTER SCIENCE SEMINAR
Data and information. Basic components and functions of a computing system. Data processing: algorithm. Types of computers. Signal and data coding. Codes for alphanumeric representation. Basic number conversion. Hardware components. Software components. Function, structure and types of an operating system. Application software. User interfaces.
Graphics on the PC. Digital images. File. Data storage and mass memories. File System. Data protection.
Basic elements of the spreadsheet. Editing commands. Graphical, numeric and conditional formatting of cells. Formulas and main logical, statistical and mathematical functions. Graphs.
Analysis of experimental data through the most common descriptive statistics functions. Data sorting and filtering. Pivot Tables.
Exercises on the use of the spreadsheet.

Didactic methods

INTERNSHIP
Supporting the physiotherapist clinical tutor, briefing / debriefing, learning contract, training feedback.
Tutorial activities led by the didactic coordinator, in groups and with individual students, for the definition of training objectives, re-elaboration of internship experiences, insights and with the teachers of the theoretical courses.
SEMINAR INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSION Interactive classroom lesson and group work
SEMINAR in COMPUTER SCIENCE Lectures and practical exercise in the IT classroom

Learning assessment procedures

INTERNSHIP: The assessment consists of a formative and certification evaluation by the internship tutors through the completion of the internship learning contracts;
The score obtained will flow into the final internship grade of the second semester.
SEMINAR INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSION: Evaluation associated with that of the core competencies of the internship
SEMINAR in COMPUTER SCIENCE: Written exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions (with 1 correct answer) divided into 2 macro-topics: Basic computer science: 15 questions; Spreadsheet: 15 questions. Rating: +1 point for correct answer; 0 points for wrong or not given answer.
Duration: 30 minutes.
The exam is only passed if, regardless of the overall score achieved, there will be at least 9 correct answers for each macro-topic. The score obtained will converge in to the final grade of the second semester.
