Providing the basics of eye ailments, essential to the formation of a Professional Educator Health.
MODULE II
Guidance on diseases of ENT interest payable by the child population and the elderly. Recognition of the main symptoms of alarm.
Prevention of degenerative and neoplastic diseases of the ENT sphere
MODULE III
Provide knowledge about the purpose and content of Hygiene, deepening the aspects related to health promotion and prevention of infectious and non-infectious. Define the basics of training in epidemiology, investigating the different types of epidemiological studies and the development and assessment of risk.
MODULE IV
Recognizing the social and health problems related to drug and consumption of drugs of abuse.
Acquire theoretical knowledge in the field of pharmaco-toxicological useful to contribute to multi-disciplinary work of the team.

Knowledge of the anatomy and pathophysiology of the visual system, particularly with regard to neuro-ophthalmology, the strabismus and refraction, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal detachment.
MODULE II
Deafness in children and adults. Vertigo.
Voice and swallowing disorders.
Adenotonsillar problems of childhood. Neoplastic disease of the head and neck. Nose - sinusal pathology.

Introduction and general concepts of Hygiene.
Health Promotion and prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases.
Indicators of the health conditions of the population.
Epidemiology: introduction, general aspects and key measures.
Purposes of epidemiology and the main types of observational study.
Experimental studies. Sampling and definition of risk.
Development and testing of a drug or a vaccine: from the laboratory to humans.
Epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases.
Vaccination schedule with particular attention to the specific information for health professionals.
Epidemiology and prevention of chronic degenerative diseases.

Elements of pharmacokinetics: absorption, distribution, biotransformation and elimination of drugs.
Elements of drug-dynamic: mechanisms of drug action, mechanisms and recognition of adverse reactions (acute poisoning, chronic poisoning, drug allergies, idiosyncrasies, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity and teratogenicity from drug).
Psycho-pharmacology: sedatives, hypnotics, anxiolytics; antidepressants, antipsychotics.
Pathological dependence: neurobiological mechanisms of addiction; heroin addiction; cocaine addiction.

Lectures Learning assessment procedures
- MODULE I: oral exam
Each exam consists of 2-3 questions and lasts about 20 minutes. The criteria which will be evaluated are as follows: clarity on exposure and the use of appropriate terminology, precision and strictness for what concerns the contents of the exposition, demonstration of the ability to apply the theoretical knowledge to the practice, demonstration to rework logically the acquired knowledge.
MODULE II: written examination with multiple choice test
16 multiple-choice questions with 4 different options of which just one is correct. Time: 1 hour
2 points for each correct question
0 point for every non-answered question
0.50 points for each false answer
For the half-point (such as X.50) the vote will be approximate for excess. To obtain “the praise” you have to make a total of 32 points.
MODULE III: oral exam
For each exam are provided 2-3 questions concerning the fields of the promotion and the prevention of the infectious and chronic-degenerative diseases, the epidemiology and the general prophylaxis of the same diseases.
-Each exam lasts about 15 minutes.
-The criteria which will be taken in consideration for the vote are as follows: clarity on exposure, capacity and precision on communication, demonstrations of a practical approach of what has been taught.
MODULE IV:
Written exam with 20 multiple choice questions (4 answers each). Every questions is worth 1.5 point if it's true; 0 points if it is false. It lasts 1 hour.
The final grade is a weighted average of the marks obtained in each of the tests. Reference texts
