Training objectives

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of government institutions (origins, development, structure) in modern European history.
Skills: Ability to connect the past and the present and to understand the dynamics of change of state institutions in European history.

Prerequisites

None.
General knowledge of modern history is desired, but will not be taken for granted

Course programme

- Origins and development of the modern state
- The political category of utopia
- The revolutions: mith and case studies.

Didactic methods

Frontal lectures.
Document reading workshops.
Interpretation of historical films with the active partecipation of students.
Lectures only in presence

Learning assessment procedures

Oral examination: Check of aware of the content of the books in bibliography and of skill to analyze documents examined during the lectures.
Written examination (only first exam for every session): Check of aware of the content of the books in bibliography and of skill to analyze documents examined during the lectures.
