Training objectives

At the end of the study course the student will be able to know:
- the general aspects of epidemiological technical language;
- the general epidemiology of infectious diseases, with particular regard to the most common diseases affecting the community;
- the general epidemiology of chronic-degenerative diseases, with particular regard to diseases related to aging and lifestyles;
- the evolution of the concept of health, disease and treatment;
- the legal and ethical bases of health education:
- the processes connected to the learning and use of scientific topics connected to health and disease;
- the phases of planning and carrying out a training project on health education issues, with a view to creating personal and community empowerment.
This wealth of knowledge is aimed at:
- affect the care relationship,
- to modify the approach to therapy and the treatment path in patients,
- to modify the lifestyles of "healthy" people, overcoming their resistance to change, in order to prevent neoplastic and cardiovascular diseases,
- contribute to the patient's equilibrium with a view to bio-psycho-social well-being.

Prerequisites

The study of the subject requires the following pre-requisites:
- elementary knowledge of mathematics (fractions, percentage calculation, terms of statistical language), of biology (general organization of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, the organization of the cell) and of pedagogy (skills in the field of informal knowledge management and non-formal, in the functioning of groups, in the mapping of needs, in the planning and evaluation of training processes and interventions, as well as in the development of communities of practices);
- basic elements of the English language.

4. General epidemiology of infectious diseases;
5. General prophylaxis of infectious diseases;
6. Airborne diseases;
7. Fecal-oral diseases;
8. Parenteral transmitted diseases;
9. Evolution of the concept of health;
10. The normative and deontological bases of health education;
11. The ways and methods of communication in health education;
12. Promote health at school;
13. Implement a health education training project.

Didactic methods

Frontal lessons

Learning assessment procedures

The exam of Hygiene and Health Education consists of a written test in presence.
- The written test consists of fifteen questions with five answer options, the content of which is based solely on what is presented in the lessons;
- Only one of the answers is the correct one, and the chosen option must be marked with an X. In case of correction, mark the rejected option with a circle.
- A score of two points is assigned to each correct answer, zero points to the incorrect answers;
- the passed test mark will be articulated from a minimum of eighteen points (18/30) to a maximum of thirty points (30/30).
- the questions concern only the topics covered during the lectures and the notes in PDF format, published here, constitute the reference text for the preparation of the test.
