Course programme

HUME
The 2020/2021 Theoretical Philosophy course includes a general introductory part dedicated to the clarification of the concept of philosophy - and of "theoretical" philosophy in particular - implemented through the analysis of the text by G. Semerari (1). The monographic part will instead be dedicated to the deepening of David Hume's theoretical perspective, through an integral reading of his main work: the Treatise on human nature (2). The most significant passages will be read and commented, also with the help of the monograph by G. Deleuze (3).

PLEASE NOTE: This program is valid from January to September 2021.

Didactic methods

The course will take place through lectures in which the reference texts will be presented.

Learning assessment procedures

The valuation is based on an oral exam, in which the theoretical understanding and the critical analysis of philosophical texts will be assessed.
