Training objectives

The aim of this course is to improve the knowledge of ancient philosophy analysing a specific topic and reading directly the texts.

Prerequisites

A basic knowledge of ancient – first of all Greek – philosophy. A knowledge of the ancient Greek language ist not a necessary prerequisite, but it is desiderable

Course programme

Aristoteles‘ philosophy: general introduction, Aristotelian logic and metaphysics

Didactic methods

The course will focus on the direct reading of the texts with the active participation of the students.

Learning assessment procedures

The oral examination (some questions about the content of the course) will be preceded by a written paper on a subject chosen by the student among those treated in the course
