Training objectives

The aim of the course is for students to reach a basic competence of the Spanish language, comparable to level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. During the course we will study the grammatical units and structures shared by most Hispanic speakers, together with some of the main phenomena of diatopic variation. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the essential points of clear messages on familiar topics in standard language. They will be able to interact in different situations that may arise while traveling in a Spanish-speaking region. They will be able to produce simple and coherent texts on familiar topics, to describe experiences, events and projects, and to briefly expose reasons and opinions.
