Training objectives

Aim of the course in-depth study of the topics of fluid dynamics applied to the machines.

Prerequisites

Turbomachinery, Numerical heat transfer and fluid flow

Course programme

Continuity equation and Navier- Stokes
Energy conservation equation . Dissipation function . Equation in the form entropic
Boundary layer : definition, universal law of the wall, meaning of u + and y + , descriptive parameters .
Levels of approximation of the Navier -Stokes equations : Block diagram , RANS models 1 and 2 equations , models of the wall.
Levels of approximation of the Navier -Stokes equations : the block diagram, and TSL models approach viscous / inviscid models Distributed Loss , flow patterns in potential
Reference systems in turbomachinery : from Cartesian system ( x , y, z ) to the cylindrical (r , ¿ , z )
