Il corso è dedicato ad argomenti monografici tratti ora dall’esperienza giuridica latinoamericana, ora da quella statunitense.
Nel corrente anno accademico si illustreranno momenti salienti di quest’ultima, dalle riforme imposte dal New Deal, sino a quelle che stanno caratterizzando la Presidenza Obama. Ciascun tema verrà illustrato a partire dalle decisioni della Corte suprema, il cui stile e contenuto consentono di ricostruire il clima culturale che ha accompagnato le scelte dei giudici.
North and South American law is dedicated to specific topics related to the Latin American legal experience or to that of US-America.
In the current academic year the course will concentrate on highlights of the latter, from the reforms imposed during the New Deal to the ones characterizing the Obama-Presidency. Each topic will be illustrated making use of Supreme Court decisions, whose style and content allow the illustration of the cultural background relevant to the solutions found by the judges.
