EXEGESIS OF THE SOURCES OF ROMAN LAW

The course will give a general overview of Roman Criminal law, with particular attention to the development of crimes and penalties in the historical evolution. The course will also be focused on the framework of the criminal procedure (iudicia populi, quaestiones perpetuae and cognitio extra ordinem) and on the structures of criminal trial (accusatorial-inquisitorial system).

For students who attend the course: reference materials will be distributed during the course.

ESEGESI DELLE FONTI DEL DIRITTO ROMANO

Durante il corso sarà analizzato il diritto criminale romano, con particolare riguardo allo sviluppo di crimini e pene nell’evoluzione storica. Oggetto del corso sarà inoltre lo studio, basato sulla lettura delle fonti, del processo criminale (iudicia populi, quaestiones perpetuae, cognitio extra ordinem) e delle sue strutture (accusatoria/inquisitoria).

Per gli studenti frequentanti, l’esame verterà sul materiale distribuito a lezione.
