Training objectives
- Achieved knowledges: basic knowledge of the legal aspects of the Italian Social Security system. Basic knowledge of: compulsory insurance against industrial injury and diseases; old age pension; benefits for disability; unemployment benefits; supplementary insurance.
Achieved skills: ability to find and to understand acts and case-law to make resolution of disputed cases. Prerequisites
- Good knowledge of Italian language and competence in logical skills; basic knowledge of contemporary history and fundamentals of Constitutional and Labour Law.
Course programme
- Evolution of social security in Italy. From mutual aid societies to social insurance. State measures of intervention under Fascism. Social security in the Italian Constitution. National Insurance for industrial injury - persons covered by insurance - accidents - employment risk - loss of faculties - Benefits - Occupational diseases. Benefits for disability. Retirement funds – benefits management (INPS) - Employment and individual retirement models. Income support. Unemployment benefits. Occupational pension scheme.
Didactic methods
- The course takes place in mixed mode, partly in presence and partly in distance learning asynchronous mode (registered and available on classroom: https: //classroom.google.com/c/NTM2ODIyNDk4OTI3? Cjc = ooqfulm), according to the schedule herein provided . Total hours: 56. Lessons take place on Mondays, 16.30 / 18.30, Tuesdays, 9,30/11,30 and on Thursdays, 13.30 / 15.30. Monday 19.9.2022: Introduction to the course, 2 h., face-to-face lesson. From Thursday 22.9.2022 to Thursday 27.10.2022: General principles, 10 h .; Injuries, 10 h .; Old age and occupational funds, 10 h .; Income protection, 10 h .; lessons in asynchronous mode (recorded and available on classroom). From Monday 7.11.2022 to Monday 28.11.2022: Discussion of practical cases, 14 h., face-to-face lessons.
Learning assessment procedures
- The exam is oral. The exam tests ability to locate constitutional and fundamental legal aspects of the Italian Social Security system, through the proposed topics.
