Training objectives

The student can recognise and use familiar words and simple phrases for concrete purposes. He/she can introduce herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows, and things he/she has. He/she can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). He/she can ask and answer basic questions about home, family, surroundings, etc. He/she can communicate in a basic way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly, and is ready to repeat or reformulate to help communication.

Course programme

The course will cover the contents of the manual used during the semester. It will deepen spelling, phonetical, morphological, syntactical and lexical aspects of French language.

Didactic methods

The lessons of the mother-tongue teachers will deepen the reading and understanding of texts, writing, oral comprehension and expression.

Learning assessment procedures

The final exam consists of a written test of grammatical investigation through transformation exercises, replacement, completion.
