Training objectives
- The course intends to provide a language competence in modern Chinese equivalent to the level A1+, according to the descriptors of Common European Framework Reference for Languages (CEFR).
By the conclusion of the course, the student is expected to:
- recognise the main phonetic phenomena of Mandarin Chinese;
- correctly reproduce initial and final phonemes, and tones;
- recognise the main components of graphic system (radicals, phonetic constituents);
- recognise the frequently used characters belonging to A1+ level;
- understand and use words related to daily routine;
- understand and use basic grammar structures. Prerequisites
- The student should be aware of the grammatical functions of Italian language and show some interest in Asian cultures and civilisations.
Course programme
- - Evolution of Chinese language, phonetics, pinyin, tones, strokes, radicals. (4 hours)
- Greetings, personal introduction, family introduction, numbers and quantities, jobs. (5 hours)
- Predicate: positive, negative and interrogative forms, hobbies and interests, plans and intentions. (5 hours)
- Daily routine, expressions of time, description of pictures and situations. (6 hours)
Moreover, the student has to read some articles concerning cultural, historical and economic issues in English language. Didactic methods
- Recorded video-lessons and/or lessons in streaming.
Teaching methodologies may vary according to the emergency related to Covid-19. It is not possible to make any prediction at the moment. Learning assessment procedures
- Written test.
The test intends to examine student’s learning outcomes. The tests includes:
- vocabulary quiz and possible listening comprehension check;
- exercises on grammatical and communicative functions;
- open questions about cultural readings. Reference texts
