Training objectives
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION
The course aims to provide students with professional skills and methodologies that determine the principles and processes of psychiatric rehabilitation.
CLINICAL PSYCHIATRY and PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS IN ADULT AND IN THE ELDERLY
To get basic knowledge for the recognition and understanding of the main psychiatric disorders.
THEORIES AND TECHNIQUES OF GROUP DYNAMICS
To develop Interpersonal skills in patient-health professional relationship and in the integrated approaches to rehabilitation in psychiatry. Prerequisites
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION: Knowledge of general psychopathology and defense mechanisms of the mind.
Basic knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophisiology and psychopathology.
Basic knowledge of dynamic theory of psychic functioning. Course programme
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION
The psychiatric patient: needs analysis, levels of psycho-social functioning and modalities of relationship.
Path of psychiatric patient care: from taking charge to recovery. Characteristics of pathways in territorial psychiatric facilities. Taking charge of the criminal psychiatric patient. Prejudices behind stigmatization. EBM interventions.
CLINICAL PSYCHIATRY
Description of the main psychiatric disorders according to the most recent classification systems (DSM, ICD). Causes, phenomenology and clinical aspects of psychiatric disorders according to the biopsychosocial model. Dual diagnosis and investigation of issues related to early psychosis with substance abuse.
PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS IN ADULT AND IN THE ELDERLY
Psychological issues of aging and difference in psychopathological disorders between adult age and old age. Psychiatric disorders in the elderly and treatment.
THEORIES AND TECHNIQUES OF GROUP DYNAMICS
Contextual therapy of group psychotherapy. Group process. Transfert and countertransfert, setting. Specific therapeutic factors in groups. Didactic methods

Practical exercises Learning assessment procedures
- GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION
Oral exam with 3 questions on the topics covered during the lessons. The evaluation criteria are relative to the expository clarity, the precision, the ability to develop critical thinking with respect to the proposed topics, the technical rigor.
CLINICAL PSYCHIATRY
Written exam consisting in 5 open questions on the topics presented during the course. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. The scoring will be based on the correct and clear-cut answers to the open questions.
PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS IN ADULT AND IN THE ELDERLY
Oral examination with 5 questions on the topics covered during the lessons. The evaluation will be based on the level of learning, the ability to correlate and / or differentiating diseases in different life stages and clinical manifestations.
THEORIES AND TECHNIQUES OF GROUP DYNAMICS
Oral examination based on the discussion of a written paper on a predetermined theme. The propriety of language, the originality of content and the appropriate use of the concepts discussed in the lectures will be assessed.
THE FINAL GRADE IS A WEIGHTED AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS. Reference texts
