Training objectives

MODULE EBP AND RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: On completion of the course the student is expected to have acquired a solid grounding in:
-the principles concerning research into Evidenced based Medicine (EBM)
- application of EBM
-skills in researching EBM using available sources
-evaluation of EBM impact on healthcare, individual patients and organization
-ethics of EBM in healthcare
MODULE INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES: Recognize and intercept the needs of the assisted person. Establish and maintain a helping relationship with the assisted person, with his family and with the network to which he belongs. Acquire the skills to recognize the main alterations of behavior and subjective experiences. Acquire the ability to respond to people's needs and use a psychiatric care and rehabilitation process calibrated to different clinical pictures. Acquire knowledge, skills and strategies in order to carry out effective interviews for the application of rehabilitation interventions. Acquire the skills of relationship and communication with other health professionals.

Course programme

MODULE EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE AND RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
-principles of clinical EPM
-dissemination of scientific information
-problems related to sources.
-clinical efficacy, guidelines, protocols and critical paths.
-health promotion through EBM
-how to find clinically important scientific evidence.
-significance and use of clinical research results.
-ethics in healthcare and its development in relation to EBM
-destination of resources and healthcare assistance
-patient choice
MODULE INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES Basic elements of the interview. Interaction between operator and user. How an interview with clinical purposes is conducted. Verbal and non-verbal communication and related applications in the context of psychiatric rehabilitation. Pragmatics of communication. Therapeutic efficacy of the well-conducted interview. From the interview to the effective relationship. Conducting interviews safely. How to report the results of an interview to the work team.

Learning assessment procedures

MODULE EBP AND RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
The exam test consists of a research conducted by a small workgroup (max 3 students) on a specific topic of the profession with power point presentation
MODULE INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES : oral exam, with 3 questions of different exploratory value: one of a general nature, one on a specific focus among the topics covered, one in detail on a single and detailed aspect. Duration of the test about 20 minutes. Evaluation criteria: clarity of presentation, capacity for synthesis and overview, consistency of the contents expressed and communicative clarity, ability to connect and personal elaboration of what has been learned.
THE FINAL GRADE IS A ARITHMETIC AVERAGE OF THE MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH TESTS.
